The experts in GPS navigation bring their class-leading expertise to the race track! The Garmin Catalyst Driving Performance Optimizer is a lap timer, on-board camera, performance data acquisition and analysis system, and a driving coach all in one.
The heart of the system is the Catalyst unit with a 7" full-color touchscreen. On track, the touchscreen is an automatic lap timer that shows your lap time as well as gain or loss compared to your best. After the session, you can review your lap times (and your driven line) directly on the screen -- no computer download needed. A 1080p remote camera (included) also records your session for playback right on the Catalyst screen. And after you run a session, optional audio prompts suggest (in real time) where and how you could go faster. You don't even have to take your eyes off the road.
The use of both GPS and GLONASS satellites (10 Hz sampling rate), plus powerful predictive algorithms, results in very accurate lap timing and track mapping. The Catalyst comes preloaded with an on-board database of racetracks around the world. If your track isn't in the database, you can add it quickly and easily, with no computer required. You can even flag your session as "wet" so the Catalyst doesn't try to compare your rain times to your dry times.
Complete kit includes the Catalyst unit, suction cup mount, optional permanent mount, remote camera, adhesive camera mount, 3.5m (11.5 ft) camera cable, USB cable, and two DC power cables (one cigar lighter plug and one hard-wire harness). A 32GB microSD memory card is preinstalled, but a second slot lets you add another microSD card (not included) to increase the on-board memory.
