How To Improve Your Vanderhall Carmel's Handling

5th Jan 2025

Months back when we developed the Vanderhall ball joint - during the install we noticed something concerning.
As we were removing the lower control arm, we had to remove the factor radius rods, however both side of the radius rods were already loose.  Per customer, this is a common issue experienced by many owners and it causes a very unpredictable handling.  We cleaned the radius rods and re-installed the radius rods with a good amount of red thread lock.
The radius rod is held on by a single bolt which squishes two polyurethane bushings to the subframe which is intended to keep the lower control arm from forward and backward movement.  As this radius rod becomes loose, your toe changes, which can lead to a very scary drive as the car becomes unpredictable.

You can see above the factory radius rod and its design.

Well, we designed a much beefier radius rod which utilizes a massive Aurora Rod end, which eliminates any slop caused by the polyurethane bushing.
We also designed the radius with a. larger bolt to ensure it stays in place and does not strip out.
